Dear Sir/Madam. I would prefer to work with a female Punjabi teacher.I am interested in learning conversationa lPunjabi. My mother tongue is English. I am interested in learning Punjabi for spiritual reasons and also to converse with my friends most of whom speak Punjabi. I understand a few Punjabi words but most times I feel left out of the conversation. My friends tend to forget that I don't understand what they are saying and will repeat the conversation in English or they tell me that I should have picked up the language by now.I have no natural connection to India but the spiritual path that I have chosen to follow is based in India and I would love to understand and enjoy the Punjabi teachings as much as I understand and love the English teachings. If you are interested in being my educator I would love to hear from you.

Currently conducting PhD Research on Culture, Tourism & Development in West Bengal with an NGO and two groups of folk artists: Patachitra and Baul & Fakiri's. My study revolves around the enhancement of community capacity to understand and engage in tourism development.
Current proficiency is basic - 10 lessons from Ram Krishna Mission in Kolkata, very basic conversation through self study and also basic conversation.
Improvemen ts - I want to become more fluent in Bengali in order to communicate with the artists that I presently work with and to start learning bengali as a second language for future work in West Bengal.
2- 3 lessons per week, currently self-directed studies 1 unit per day with review the following day.
Quali ties - a teacher that will go through conversationa l and grammar (which I struggle with), patience and ability to find creative ways to challenge me in real life situations.
I have to improve my communication s skills as currently I can understand a little more than speak. Often shy at speaking. . .

I would like to learn Russian because I have recently discovered that I have Russian roots, and I am very interested in the culture, which of course includes the language! I would be a beginner, as I only know a few words in Russian. I would like to dedicate as much time as I possibly can to learning the language. In a teacher, I would like them to be dedicated to teaching the language, I would also like them to be patient, but strict and firm.
