I have not yet begun my Tamil studies as of yet, and wish to learn the language fluently (conversation al and written). I am willing to dedicate as much time as necessary to learn the language properly. A qualified teacher for me is one who is patient, dedicated, and pleasant, but also knowledgeable in teaching this particular language.

I have been living in Malaysia for the last year and am engaged to marry an Indian (Tamil speaking) man from there, so would like to begin to learn to speak and understand basic Tamil. I have heard Tamil spoken much, but I understand only a very little and speak almost none. I wish to spend one to two hours per week studying, especially spoken language. Ideally I would like to be able to meet and study with a tutor in person, but I would also consider long distance, phone, email or video conferencing options.
