I want to learn foreign languages because I think it's important for people to be able to speak more than one language. It's essential to communicate with other people around the world, and gives you the opportunity to do so. I am very much interested in learning Chinese (Mandarin) because I find it to be a very beautiful language.
Although I've tried to pick up some basic phrases in chinese, I am very much a beginner but would like to put forth the effort to overcome that.
I am looking to dedicate at least 2 to 3 hours a week to this language because anymore than that I feel would be counterproduc tive.
I am would like a teacher that is patient, flexible, and passionate about the language they are teaching.

I'm learning Chinese because it is the most spoken language in the world, and since I plan to go into international politics it will be a very useful language to know. I'm currently in my fourth year of Chinese study and I am willing to dedicate as much time as needed to become proficient in this language. I need particular help in grammar and tones. I would like my teacher to be an experienced native speaker, but with a firm grasp of English. Unfortunately , I've missed quite a bit of school due to illness, and I will need help catching up in the next three weeks, to be finished in time for graduation.
