I am a beginner, and I wish to learn Persian because I love the literature and I've always loved the language in general. I am a first generation Iranian-Ameri can and would like to brush up on my conversation skills in Farsi. My goals are to learn more expressions, grammar, and conversate fluently. I am requesting to learn the Persian language, Dari specifically, because I am pursing the Southwest Asia Area for Graduate School. I have applied to two specific Graduate Schools in that area of interest and have applied to the USAID to work in Afghanistan. I come from an extensive Military background. I deployed once to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. I had the honor to work on education development in Afghanistan, and developed a passion for the country. This is my passion in life and I am wanting to prepare for school or vocation.
While I worked in Afghanistan, I learned some specific phrases. Most of the time, however, I used an interpreter for translation.
I would need to start at the beginner's level.
I will dedicate up to three hours per a week for lessons, and as many required per a week for studies.
I am looking for a teacher that can understand my learning pace and can develop the teachings around it.
