I am a beginner in the Greek language. I have been travelling to Greece for the last 15 years and still only know a handful of words. I have many Grecian friends and would enjoy being able to have a conversation with them in their own language.
I would like to dedicate 2 hours a week to my lessons. The qualities I am looking for in my teacher is that their native language is Greek as a feel that I would get a better understanding of the language from them rather than from someone who is not from their.

My partner is Greek and I want to be able to converse with the family when I go to Athens
I would like to be able to hold a proper conversation rather than just asking for the milk or saying good morning!!
I want 1 or 2 hours per week with work to do in my own time in between ie self study exercises
I want to be taught in a way where I will be able to talk greek and understand what people are saying to me. It is less important to be able to write in greek

My Husband and Myself would like to learn Greek. We have visited Greece several times and would very much like to live there. We have no knowledge of the Greek language at all and feel we would learn far better with a private tutor, either at a college or at home. The sooner we can learn Greek the better. We would dedicate as much time as is required to learn the language as soon as possible. We may be going on holiday to Greece in June/July of this year and would like to be able to 'get by a little' by then if possible. We have searched the internet for quite a while to find a private tutor in the Birmingham, Halesowen or surrounding areas but can not find anyone. We hope you can help, and thank you for your time.
