Hi, my name is Alexandra I am 28 years old and will be living in Toronto for the next year. My partner is africaans and as a surprise I want to start learning the basic and surprice in a year when we are on holiday. I am at beginners level. I would like to attend a class that would run from around 7 p.m at nigth 1 time a week. I would love if there was a group option but otherwise one to one is also ok. I would like to make the learning as fun and exciting as possible and start by learning the basic so I could have a conversion with my partner.

I am looking for one on one Cantonese instruction. Previously, I had taken levels 1 and 2 Mandarin instruction through U of T with success. We also studied traditional characters which I feel gives me a good base to begin learning Cantonese. I have traveled to Hong Kong several times in the past few years out of interest, and my partner and his family speak Cantonese. In terms of my learning objectives, I would like to take lessons once or twice per week in order to become proficient in speaking, writing, and texting. I would also prefer making a more long-term commitment to my learning as I would like to become proficient.

I want to learn Amharic for my own personal reasons. I'm at a beginners level; however,I've learned some Amharic years ago so I still have a little understanding of the language. I would like to improve on my pronuciation of the Amharic characters and writing them. I would like to learn proper grammar and learn how to have a conversation in Amharic.
