I am very keen to earn modern greek. i am at a beginner level but am willing to put in lots of work to benefit from my tutor lessons. i visit Greece on a regular basis and plan on moving over there one day. i am currently coming towards the end of high school, and am due to begin college in september. i reason i want to learn greek is so i can communicate with the locals there and not be treated like a tourist ( i also want to impress my greek friends !! ). tutor can be male or female, any age and does not need to be a qualified teacher.

I'm a beginner at all the languages I want to learn. There is no practical purpose for my desire to learn, really; I simply want to. However, I do see practical benefits like being able to converse with people around the world, and being able to read foreign texts in the original language. I suppose you can't truly judge Sartre's or Voltaire's or Rilke's or Homer's works if all you've read are the English translations.
