I want to learn chinese for a couple of reasons:
1 . I recently got engaged and my fiance is taiwanese. My side of family can communicate with her because we can speak English. But her family speak very little English. Out of my respect I want to be able to atleast communicate with her parents. Im not really into learning how to write but I am interested in learning mandarin to be able to communicate.
2. My father's business also deals with alot of chinese prospects so in terms I think learning mandarin can also be a plus for my future opportunity
3. Also been very interested in learning mandarin
C urrently, I am a beginner. I am not sure where to start but hopefully I can find an instructor that can help me to the best of my needs.

I'm looking for a babysitter/tu tor for my daughter adopted from China. She was born in December, 2005 and adopted in November, 2006. She has taken Chinese languages classes, had Chinese playdates, listens to Chinese children's music, and watches Chinese DVDs. All her Chinese friends and tutors marvel at her understanding . We want to keep this alive and encourage her to speak more.

Hello.
I am an adult, looking for an instructor for after school, and/or Sat, to begin learning Mandarin Chinese together with my two sons, ages 13 and 14. We would like to learn Chinese for many reasons, including communicating in the future with Chinese language speakers in school, business and in society.
W e are beginners with no background in Chinese so we would like a strong foundation. An effective teacher with experience and success in teaching Chinese will work best. It is helpful to find an instructor who is interesting and patient, while being effective. This is a long term goal for us to become proficient speakers and writers of Chinese.
