I have started learning icelandic a few months ago, using books and the internet. I have a very basic knowledge of the language and I would like to be able to have a conversation with an icelandic native speaker. I would like to go and live over there in a few years. I will need more grammar and more vocabulary and my comprehension is very poor... I would like to be able to practice icelandic once a week or every two weeks if possible. I am looking for a nice and patient teacher who will try to help me in an relaxed atmosphere.

Hi,
I'm looking for someone to tutor me for a couple weeks in the basics of Icelandic. I know only the handful of words and phrases I picked up during a visit to the island last winter, and would love to know more before I return again for vacation in late summer. My brother came to Iceland 1,5 year ago. he is going to icelandic school, but until now he doesn't understand anything during lessons. he is going to some icelandic courses, but he is still in the beginer level. at school they are learning difficult things, so he cannot understand anything. so we are looking for someone in Reykjavik who speaks icelandic and could help him with homeworks (to translate tasks and materials)and at the same tame teach him icelandic.

I'm a real beginner in icelandic. I've already bought a set of book and cds to learn, so I started to practice, but I think it's difficult to get motivated and perseverant by my own all the time .
My native language is french, but i'm also used to english too. I want to learn this language as a hobby, i find it very interesting and really beautiful since i listen to a lot of icelandic music. I wish in the future i'll be able to visit Iceland... So i as said, i'm really at the beginning of the learning! I need improvement in everything! :P
I dont know yet how much time i could dedicate to the language lessons, but i'm sure we could make arrangements :)
And finally, i'm just looking for an enthousiastic teacher who's patient that could push me to keep working on my icelandic! :) and give me something structured!
