I am looking for a teacher of the Armenian language. I am interested in either private lessons or a group lesson. I am a beginner, although have listened to some tapes and have a language book. I am marrying into an Armenian family still living in Armenia, and while my fiance's family speaks some English, I would like to be able to understand and speak fairly simple conversation. We plan to live there at some point, and will be travelling there fairly often.

I would like to be able to speak armenian very well, advanced class. Not sure about the reading and writting. So I would like to take a particular attention to the conversation part. I want to learn armenian because that is my husband's native language and we want our kids to speak it. Right now, i'm still in mat leave for at least 2 months, so i'm ready to give it up to 3 times a week for now, and when I go back to work, once or twice. I'm ready to do a lot of homework by myself, let's say 1 hour a day. The qualities i'm looking for in my lessons, it's for it to be easy visually. If there's no other way for me to learn amenian than for learning the alphabet, i will do it, but i need a lot of examples. And in my teacher, just a lot of patience and him or her liking kids, because they might be a time that i won't find anywhere to leave my baby ....
That's it. Hope will get an answer fast, because i can't wait to talk with my family in law ...in armenian !!
