I am a beginner wishing to advance my knowledge of mandarin with focus on speaking skills.
My current knowledge is limited to very basic words learned from various friends and colleagues. I require a course starting almost from scratch, and hope to prepare myself for the possibility of moving to China for several months within the next year.
I am looking for affordable lessons from a tutor that will be prepared and able to adapt to my learning rate/style. I am OK with small groups for this, or one-on-one.

Greetings,
Although English is my first language, I grew up with French my whole life, living in Quebec and attending school in French until the age of 15. Now that my work demands a very high level of French, more so than I've ever been used to, I would like to improve my ability, not only for my career, but also for my personal satisfaction. Here is are a few examples of errors I have recently made in writing, corrected by a native French speaker:
' comme mentionné' should be 'tel que mentionné'
'l'annonce' should be 'le communiqué'
'engagement continue' should be 'engagement soutenu'
' tel comme apparu' should be 'tel que publié'
I would like to be able to choose words more wisely, use better expressions, increase my vocabulary, perfect my grammar, etc. Hopefully a good teacher will be able to spot my weaknesses and fix them before I ever notice them!

I've had a few lessons, but my Russian is still very bad. I'm most interested in being able to read russian, but obviously talking is also important. I will be able to have lessons 2 or 3 times per week.

I visited Russia for nearly 7 weeks, so I have very basic skills, however, I am a quick learner. I have a friend visiting me this summer from Russia. I would like to be able to surprise that person with my newly acquired knowledge of the Russian language=)
