I am a beginner. I have nearly no knowledge of the Hebrew language. I am wanting to go back to school for religious studies. I understand that most of the oldest biblical texts are in Hebrew. I am very interested in learning Hebrew and am willing to dedicate ten to fifteen hours per week. I am a quick learner and retain information well, however I seem to have difficulties with foreign languages. Though I have never seriously dedicated time to studying a foreign language. I am in my mid 40's so I am looking for a teacher who is patient and mature. I am in the legal profession and will be attending a university to major in religious studies in 12 - 18 months. I am a beginner who has always dreamed of learning Hebrew. I've tried software and do-it-yoursel f books and I find it hard to make progress without help and am finding it very hard to find help in the Derby/Notting ham area. I need help grasping the basics and building upwards. I am willing to devote as much time as it takes and as much time as a tutuor is willing to give me. I'm looking for one-on-one help, though my son - who is almost a year old - would most likely be present at any tutoring sessions.

I am at a beginner level. I recognize most of the alphabet and I also know numbers. I would guess I am the equivalent of a Kindegarten student. I have been using Rosetta Stone online. But, I would like to work with someone in person. I would like to have at least one in person lesson per week and would like at home work as well.
I am learning Hebrew because I am marrying an Israeli and would like our children to learn the language and speak it in the home. I am Jewish, but I have not had formal Hebrew classes other than the basic prayers.

I am a sixty year old American immigrant who has taught
Engli sh for thirty-five years in the U.S.A. who is having
difficulty learning to speak Hebrew. I am getting lost in the ulpan and am the only American in the class which is composed of Russian immigrants. My particular needs are not being met in the present setting. I need help desperately and as soon as possible.
