I studied French for 5 years in junior and high schools. I am 24 now, and desire to place out of the beginning levels of French at the University of Houston. I would need to work on grammar, vocabulary, translation, and writing. I have begun working on my own in workbooks, but would like to have a bit of guidance and monitoring of my progress and additional practice/exer cises.
I am thinking perhaps I would check in with a teacher once a week and go over work and maybe discuss a new lesson or problem areas. Perhaps even receive assignments or vocabulary work for the next week. I am also open to suggestions the tutor might have about best approaching self-study.

more or less a beginner, i am slightly acquainted with the devangari script, and am very acquainted with listening to hindi, i can pick up a few words here and there, but am very very far from being able to speak and read it like i want to. i want to do this for personal interest, and also perhaps professional as i am a college student who might go work in india after i graduate. i am looking for a few hours a week with a teacher who does not treat me as an absolute beginner with no knowledge of the language at all.

I am between beginner and intermediate. I'm familiar with the language and have basic language skills.
I want to learn to understand the music, movies,histor y and poetry, as I know urdu is a very poetic language.
I need improvement in both grammar and conversation, but mostly grammar.
