I'd say my level is beginner. I want to learn the language though, because i want to study, work, and live in japan. I'm willing to dedicate as much time as possible to learning the language, and I want very much to be exposed to all things Japanese. So much so that I want think in Japanese. In the teacher, I'm looking for someone who makes things easy to understand and is able to teach a lot at once. I want someone who can make me think in Japanese. The areas I feel I need particular help in, are verb tenses, Kanji, vocabulary, and sentence structure. I have been studying on my own, but I feel that a teacher is the only way I can really advance in learning this amazing language.

I'm actually a college graduate. Born and raised in the states (NY). I'm 28 years old to give you and idea of who I am.
I'm looking for a tutor to help me with my spelling and english grammar, I think I might have missed a few point in high School. I travel a lot with work during the week, there for I am looking for tutoring/clas ses durning the weekends.
I'm in desprete need of help and I have not been seccessful in finding a course. College courses are too expencive.

I would like to learn Mandarin and some Cantonese entirely from scratch. I would like to travel to Hong Kong and Beijing later this year, and so I don't want to look like the ubiquitous stupid American (who can't learn more than 'hello' and 'thank you' in a foreign tongue).
I deally I would like to meet for private lessons. I would prefer to have a FEMALE teacher. I'm pretty much available all the time to meet whenever the professor is able to do so. I'm very serious about my studies.
