I am a visiting Penang for three months (until end of April 2014). I am highly interested in learning Mandarin and the local dialect Hokkien. This is my second stay and I am a beginner.
I would now like to dedicate time during this period for a good start in learning Chinese, which I also would like to improve further by a regular training in the future.
I would prefer an intensive form of learning in person, ideally combined with the opportunity to learn about everyday's life and the Chinese and local culture. Learning Chinese characters is also an objective, at least with the ability of some basic reading.
I would appreciate to discuss a framework and concept for the learning period with the teacher.

As a member of an ethnic community group in Hong Kong, it is not particularly easy for us to access facilities that help us learn the local language.
I am looking to learn Mandarin, both reading and writing, from a beginner's level as I would be able to use this language once I return to Hong Kong. Though Hong Kong's primary language is Cantonese, Mandarin is required due to the increasing influence of the Mainland region.
As a beginner, I am willing to learn Mandarin for 6 hours a week. I would like my instructor to ensure that most of the instruction is in Mandarin, unless necessary.
