I have never done any mandarin calasses but I am looking to learn as I will start university next year and one of the subjects is Mandarin. I leave Malaysia in 3 months, I would like to accomodate a leassons plan for this period of time.

I have very basic knowledge in Mandarin, i.e both spoken and written. I work for a MNC and my regional boss thought it would be a good idea to strengthen my Mandarin so that it will open up opportunities to work in China, Taiwan and any other country in Asia that speaks the language. I can dedicate one and a half hours, twice a week. However, sometimes I need to travel for work so I also need the flexibility to temporary postpone classes and pick it up again when I return. I need a patient teacher, but strict.

hello,how do you do? i am a doctor, practicing in malaysia. everyday, i face difficulties communicating with chinese patients who do not speak any english or malay. hence, i would like to learn mandarin which i presume pretty much cover all chinese dialects in malaysia (will they have problem understanding mandarin?) Should i learn mandarin or cantonese? kindly advise
