I would like to start learning Portuguese as I want to have the ability to communicate and maybe someday move to a country such as Brazil. I plan to one day work in the mining sector and since Brazil is experiencing a mining boom, I decided that it might be wise to start learning a language that's common in this particular country. I don't have any experience in it so I guess I'm a beginner. I would like to start off with about two hours a week, and I would like a tutor or teacher who can help me get materials, to do extra study in my own time. I am currently at university and since they do not offer Portuguese as a language, I came here to seek tutoring from someone who will be patient and good helping me with the correct pronunciation etc.

I am from a mixed parentage of Portuguese Chinese but been living in Malaysia since I was born. It's a shame that I do not speak my own language, but given a chance it would be great to speak some Portuguese. Plan to visit Portugal in near future. Hope to find a native Portuguese (European Portuguese) nearby to learn basic Portuguese.

I have recently become engaged to a Brazilian lady and have intentions of moving to Brazil on a more permanent basis in the future. I am familiar with a lot of vocabulary, but sentence structure, grammar and conversation are out of my grasp at this point, so I would classify myself as a beginner. To start, I'd be willing to put in 3 to 5 hours a week in my studies, as I'm working a lot these days. As for teacher qualities, they must be patient and flexible.
