Dear Mr. Atanaskovic
My name is Nancy, ali Anica po Slovensko, and I am writing because I would like to learn how to speak Slovenian properly. My proficiency level is just above beginner, where I understand a lot but not all and can speak a bit but always use the incorrect work endings. I am learning this language because it is the language of my parents, I grew up with it, but never really understood it. Particular improvements is needed with grammar and conversation practice. Time wise, I am committed to one night a week. I am looking for patience with a teacher. I will work hard to learn but please take the time to explain why things are done a certain way.

I'm at the beginner level. My parents are both Slovenian and Slovenian was spoken in our family though it was never formally taught to me. In those days 1960's the emphasis was to learn English so that I would assimilate into mainstream Canadian society and thus from speaking French and Slovenian at the age of 5, today I'm only fluent in English. I want to learn how to speak Slovenian and am very capable to get to Toronto to take lessons. My parents and brothers and sisters all live in the area.
