I am a university professor applying for a Fulbright scholarship to work in Thailand starting in 2006, and would like to learn Thai to communicate with Thai people should my application be accepted. I know nothing about Thai so far, but have learned French, German, Swiss-German, and some Spanish, so I like languages. I need to learn enough Thai to participate in normal life - bargaining in the marketplace, taking mass-transpor t around Bangkok and around the country, etc. I look for an instructor who is a skilled language teacher, and will push me to learn.

I have no prior experience with learning Thai. I would like to attend Mahasarakham University somtime next year and would like to have a certain degree of proficiency in Thai by then. I am willign to dedicate however much time deemed neccessary by the person to whom will instruct me. I prefer having someone who can instruct me well even at my low level. I am currently an undergrad in downton Chicago and have classes in other subjects Mondays through Thursdays in th mornings and early afternoons.

I am a manager, looking for a private tutor for employees in San Antonio, TX (Spanish), West Chicago, IL (English) and Annapolis, MD (Mandarin). These students already have intermediate to advanced skills in their target Language. I would like personal instruction to raise their technical language skills even further.
W e will schedule two two-hour sessions a week until the student feels his skill levels are sufficiently high. Afterward we will continue private tutoring with one two-hour session per week to maintain skill levels. I will trust the students to conduct interviews and select the tutor that best suits our needs.
