For years, I've held a fascination with languages. Some, I am working on picking up on my own as they are easier to understand with my knowledge of French and English, but some others I wish to learn (such as Arabic, Greek, and Japanese) will be much harder to learn due to completely different structures. Arabic is my current focal point, as I wish to go to Lebanon in a few years, and would like to have some proficiency with the language long before the trip is ever prepared.
I work with many Lebanese people, and I love the sound of the language, and am quite intrigued by it. Although I'd prefer to learn Lebanese Arabic, any other similar dialect would be okay for me as well. So hopefully I can find a teacher here...

Hi,
I'm a student at carleton, taking a year off right now.
I'm planning on travelling to South America later this winter. I just want to pick up some very basic Spanish before i leave.
I would want to focus on conversation and areas that would be practical for a traveller. e.g. food, money, transportatio n.

I am an intermediate Spanish learner...I have also spent a few months in Spain back in the summer of 2003. I would like to fine tune my grammatical knowledge, but I would also like to converse with a native speaker. I have recently learned the subjunctive and am looking for someone to really practice my verb tenses with and just basically chit-chat with while learning.
