I have not began any classes yet, but I would like too. I want to learn Tagalog (filipino). I would like to learn it mostly because my boyfriend is from the philipines, and his family and him always speak it. His parents always accidently speak it to me because they forget that I speak english, and I would like to know what they are saying. In the future, such as 6 months to a year, we plan to take a trip to the philipines for a month or 2, and I would like to know how to communicate with the people. I know a reasonable amount of spanish right now, and I know tagalog is part spanish, so I believe that would help; I enjoy learning languages. I am looking for anyone good at teaching, that is willing to teach me tagalog. I could probably dedicate 2 nights a week towards learning, and it does not matter how many people are in my class. :) ~Jennifer

Hello, potential teacher. I am a beginner. I'm still in school, so I might be alittle less available then I'd like to be from time to time. I am willing to learn whenever it's needed, and will make time for it.
I would like to use Instant messaging or e-mail to learn, and wouldn't might learning with another student. In fact, I might more comfortable if there were other students learning with me.
I want to learn Tagalog because I feel like I have been losing connection to my culture.
I hope posting this will help a teacher find me, because I was having trouble picking out a teacher myself.

very very beginner...I' ve wanted to learn Tagalog for a while now because a lot of my relatives speak it and it caught my interest. I'm ready to crack down and dedicate myself to learning it. I need to learn everything from basic vocabulary to sentence structure to common phrases...eve rything. I know nothing. I'll dedicate however much time I can afford. I just want a patient teacher who will teach me CORRECTLY.
