I have been in Taiwan for 2 years. This is my first attempt at learning a new language. I have some basic sentences, i can get around in a taxi, ask for things politely, talk about the weather and ask some questions. I can not read or write.
I would like to learn more Chinese for a hobbie. I like to learn and be challenged. I have now got to a point that i am sick of not understanding . I want to know more.
I would like to do 2 lessons a week. Up to 4 hrs a week. I need to be pushed and tested.
I need someone who is patient. I am a teacher, but a somewhat slow Chinese learner. I would like someone who can have fun in a lesson, challenge me and make things enjoyable.

Hi, my name is Sachin Desai. Thank you for your interest. I am an American citizen currently living and working in Hsinchu, Taiwan. I have studied Chinese previously and am looking for an intermediate level Chinese tutor for 1 on 1 tutoring, or small classes of 3 students or less. I am looking to study for at least six hours a week (in 2 hour sessions), and am available any time after 6:00 PM during the work week and on weekend afternoons/ni ghttimes (preferably only 1 lesson during the weekend). I will live in Hsinchu for approximately ten months, and initially plan to study for at least 3-4 months. I live by ²MµØ¤j¾Ç. I can study in my apartment or can meet anywhere in that general area.
This past summer I studied Mandarin in an intensive language program (9 weeks). Since I have had basic lessons, I do not need a tutor with a very high level of experience in teaching. However, they should have had prior experience teaching Chinese to intermediate level students. I prefer to focus on grammar and pronunciation during these sessions, as I tend study vocabulary on my own. I look forward to starting as soon as possible. Thank you very much! ÁÂÁ±z!

I have studied Madarin as part of my BA degree for two years. I arrived to Taipei last week, in order to study at MTC (Mandarin Training Center) for one year.

I am interested in learning French. I am now at the beginner's level, even though I know some vocabulary and some simple grammar. I am starting a French course in September 2007 back at my university in the United States - I want to get a head start on the language. I am also learning Mandarin Chinese at National ChengChi University NCCU (Cheng Da) every morning. Because of all that, I plan to take the French courses once or twice a week for an hour or two.
