I am seeking a tutor in modern Greek. I am currently a beginning student, taking classes at Berlitz. I have a wonderful teacher that I meet with 1-2 times per week.
I am a slow learner, however, and have found that I forget things very quickly. A tutor to help with homework and conversation would be extremely helpful to me in the learning process and in reinforcing what I learn in class.
I am looking for a tutor to meet with roughly two times per week.
I am taking Greek as part of a foreign language requirement for my MA work at the University of Denver. I must complete 4 levels at Berlitz (the equivalent of 2 years of language) for my degree.
In addition, I enjoy the language and hope to eventually become relatively proficient in it.
Patience and repetition are going to be important for me, as well as some flexibility in scheduling as I sometimes have coursework that competes for my time and I travel with work on occasion.

I have been living in Greece for 3 years, doing my postgraduate studies. I need to learn Greek for my career advancement but also for everyday correspondenc e as I plan to live here for couple of more years.
I can understand simple conversations about familiar topics, and I can speak in a similar manner. I need to improve my writing and reading, which is really basic.
I would specifically want to improve my conversationa l skills.
A short learning period of couple of months with intense weekly programme would be my priority.
I expect my teacher to adjust the lessons to my needs.
