Description Hello,

I'm a beginner Japanese student interested in developing my skills beyond the pace of my college classroom. I don't have much experience, and while I can read and write kana and understand very basic grammar, my knowledge of vocabulary, kanji, and more complex constructions is extremely limited.

I am willing to spend several hours per week on my studies, however financial constraints would likely limit actual tutoring to an hour or so per week.

I am most interested in developing conversationa l skills, as so far I have gotten little opportunity to use them, causing them to be very weak. Therefore, I would much prefer an instructor willing to use voice-chat or meet in person (not likely near Toledo, though I am willing to travel a fair distance into Ohio or Michigan).
Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope to speak with you soon.

Description I am currently taking Japanese classes at my college- and I really feel a tutor would help reinforce what I am learning as well as help me advance more. I'm at level 3 in the college, but I don't feel like I have learned enough. We have studied verbs (not dictionary form), ordering food, shopping, and talking about time and class/daily schedules. I know hiragana and katakana and a few very basic kanji.
Ever since I could remember I have been really interested in the Japanese language as well as culture. I hope to find a career in which I can use Japanese.

I feel I need improvement with grammar/sente nce structure, conversation, and expanding my vocabulary.
I would like a teacher who could meet me at the minimum of at least twice a week. I would also like a teacher who is very knowledgable about Japanese language as well as the culture.

Description Beginner level learner. Wanting to learn basics of the Japanese language prior to attending a year of High School abroad in Japan. Student is very motivated and willing to put in the time required to learn. Taking classes during the school year is difficult because of current homework load, but we are very interested in summer classes and possibly continuing through next school year, depending on time commitments. The most important quality in a teacher is someone who can be flexible with their teaching style to accommmodate different learning styles. We are interested in someone who is passionate about teaching and can offer insights into the Japanese culture as well as just the language.
