I am a 26 year old Canadian female 'beginner' who has been around Persians a lot in the last 5 years and have heard so much of the language that it frustrates me that I don't know it well enough to converse. I wish to become fluent in Farsi within a couple of years to converse with my Persian friends and hopefully to use the skills furhter down the road in business. I have the Rosetta Stone program levels 1 and 2 but have not been extremely consistent in studying.I know several phrases, most of the alphabet, and many food dished since I've worked in Persian restaurants for years.
I am also very fascinated by Persian culture and find it the most intriguing of all the Middle Eastern cultures. I have been to Iran a couple years ago and wish very much to return again. I currently work in Al Rahba as a riding instructor and horse trainer while going to University online for Global Business Management with Universtiy of Phoenix. One thing I insist on is that I have a female tutor. I would also like to know thet cost of sessions. I would be interested in two lessons a week that would consist of convrsational learning as well as written work when I get more fluent. I have afternoon hours of 11:30 to 3:30 off of work where I could drive into either Dubai or Abu Dhabi once I buy a car. (Hopefully in the next few weeks) Otherwise I usually have either Friday or Saturday off every week. Thank you for your help.

My parents were both born and raised in Afghanistan and my sisters and I were born in New York. My mother is from Khandahar and my father is from Kabul. My sisters and I grew up speaking strictly Pashto at home, but my parents and my entire family speak both Pashto and Farsi. I know the basics of Farsi, but I want to be able to speak it fluently. I want to be able to keep a conversation with the elders in my family that speak only Farsi and eventually teach my children one day as well.

I am a young woman wanting to learn to speak, read and write Farsi in order to communicate with my partner's family as they do not speak any English! I do not speak Farsi, although with a little help from the internet I have picked up a few letters and basic pronounciatio n of Farsi 'vowel' sounds(i.e. 'ah' when the dash is above the character, 'eh' when the dash is below the character and 'oh' when the symbol above the character looks like a 9). I am looking to ideally spend at least 2 hours a week dedicated to learning this language as I appreciate learning a language is difficult and particularly one so different to English; I pick up languages with ease (I already speak good French and German and can get by in Spanish and Italien). I am looking for a teacher who is patient, but persistant and dedicated to helping their students pick up this language. I would hope to one day be fluent, though I appreciate this will take a lot of time and effort from both myself and my teacher, but anything above basic communication and conversation skills would be a fantastic bonus.
