I'm a middle-aged Scottish man living in Italy. I have visited Turkey several times but only know a few basics. I want to improve my conversationa l ability by having lessons for about 4 weeks during the period July - September 2009. I would prefer somewhere in the south like Diyarbakir and accomodation in a family. If I could do a little Kurdish too, that would be good. I am very adaptable and don't have problems about food and styles of living. I want somebody with experience teaching foreigners practical, current, spoken Turkish.

Proficiency level: beginner
I would like to learn Russian and Turkish for travel purposes, and to add it on as an additional skill in my resume.
I would like help in areas primarily speaking and reading; writing is not my priority as i think that usually comes naturally when one has mastered the reading skill.
I would like to dedicate about 3 to 4 hours a week to learn, more if my teacher feels I am needing extra time. I am not in a hurry to master the language though. So teaching pace can be set by teacher.
I'm looking for a teacher who has the patience, loves teaching and makes a difficult language seem easier to understand.

I spent 10 months teaching English in Istanbul and now that I am back in Canada, I would like to formally learn conversationa l Turkish. I am a beginner but I know a few words and sentences.
I want to learn out of a personal interest for the language, country, culture.
