I am just above beginner level. I can read slowly, and can speak a little. I want to learn because I want to spend more time here, I love the country and people, and feel it's best to be able to at least communicate a bit in Hindi. I especially want to be able to speak better, to have a conversation, and to understand spoken Hindi better. I would like to learn for an hour a day, and do homework for one-two hours a day. Qualities I'm looking for: above all patience, plus, good teaching skills, sense of humour, preferably native speaker who speaks at least one additional language, not necessarily English, but just so he or she has had the experience of learning another language.

Hi..
i am a sotware engineer. i am gonna take up my UPSC civil service exam in 2009. This requires passing one of the indian language papers for which im planning to opt for hindi. i v studied hindi till standard 5 in school.So i wanna learn the basics and also the chapters as mentioned in the syllabus of the exam.I will provide the syllabus when i meet the staff in person.I would prefer the classess on sundays as it's the only day im free.
