Hi all! I'm a professional, looking for a private or small group tutor in Japanese. I'm studying the language to advance my career opportunities overseas - I've spent a year in Japan already as an English instructor, and I picked up some of the language already, but I don't feel proficient yet. I guess you could call my level intermediate. I'd like practice in reading and listening, as well as writing and speaking, being forced to PRODUCE THE LANGUAGE. Not just listen to it. That is definitely more difficult, and produces a better learning experience. I live in Merritt Island, so it would obviously be better the closer it is to me, but I might be willing to drive to Orlando once a week or so. I'd like a native speaker of Japanese, but that's not a necessity. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Description |
I am a beginer in Japanese language even though I was in the Japanese Culture Club at my high school. I learned a lot in there and I also practice with a program called Rocket Languages Japanse, which has helped me a lot to learn a few things in Japanese, but I would like to learn Japanese from a person who has actually lived in Japan and who knows more about how things are currently said in Japan. I feel like I need a lot of help in learning how to write all three types of japanese writting (hiragana, katana, and kanji) I also need help on my grammar and conversationa l. I would like to spend as much time as it takes for me to learn Japanese. Thank you.

Description |
Hello. I am looking to take beginner level Japanese. I have taken a Japanese course in high school, though that was years ago. I just returned from Japan so my knowledge of the language is a bit sharper than it used to be. My primary reason for wanting to learn Japanese is so I can teach over there in the next few years. I need to work on conversation, grammer and writing skills. I would like to dedicate approximately 4-8 hours a week depending upon other priorities. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and willing to guide me in the right direction.
