My proficiency level in Spanish is at the beginner level. My husband is from Chile, so even though I have listened and been around his family and friends for many years I understand very little and do not speak the language at all. The reason why I would like to learn Spanish is that my husband and I are thinking of retiring in Chile within the next 10 years or so. I love South America finally feel as though I should get serious about learning the language well enough to live there one day. We recently moved to St. Louis and I do not have to work a daily job, so my schedule is flexible. I would like to dedicate time each day learning to speak Spanish, and am thinking of live, in person lessons once or twice a week.
I am looking for a teacher who teaches conversationa l Spanish. Although speaking the language is my primary goal, I believe I will learn faster with some reading and writing lessons or some teaching technique that will help me form mental images of what I am trying to speak.

I took spanish in school for 3 years. I a 30 level high school course in spanish with a passing grade of 80%. I would like to be able to fluently speak and write spanish. I think I need improvement in pronounciatio n and grammar. I would say i am at an intermediate level right now. I would like to contribute a couple hours twice a week. Maybe even better if I have written lessons I can take home and new vocabulary words to learn each week.
