My proficiency level in Spanish is intermediate. I want to enhance my ability to speak, read and write Spanish for personal growth, since my wife and I will be traveling a great deal to Hispanic countries. I want to concentrate especially on conversation. I have completed both of the beginning conversationa l Spanish classes offered at UNLV, enrolled in the graduate program at UNLV and just last Friday completed Spanish 213, which is UNLV's first of two intermediate Spanish classes. I've been introduced to present and imperfect subjunctive, as well as present indicative, preterite, imperfect, perfect, future and conditional. I feel my comprehension is coming along nicely but these have been classes of up to 20 people so it has been difficult to practice conversation.
I would like to be in a class of 3 to 5 people and would like to have 8 to 10 hours of instruction a week in person and I'm willing to put in an additional 2 or 3 hours a day outside the class. I am very flexible on time as I am retired, but I would like to start soon as I do have trip coming up in August.

I would say that my Spanish proficiency level is beginner. I have taken many Spanish classes through highschool and beginner Spanish courses at the University level. However, my retention has always been questionable and my conversation level has been poor. My main problems with learning Spanish is forming sentences and verbalizing. I am able to understand Spanish when spoken to me at a higher level than I am able to form sentences myself. My goal is to become fluent or atleast very functional with Spanish. My time frame is 2 - 6 hours a week. I am looking for an instructor who will focus on speaking and less with workbook or textbook teaching because these methods have proved less than effective for my learning style in the past.

Hello,
I am looking for a teacher to help me work on the basic Spanish skills I already have. I have learnt some aspects of present and future tense, and would like to improve on this. I will be travelling to Mexico in October and would like to take one class a week until then, preferably for an hour or two.
I am looking for a teacher who is friendly and patient and can help me improve my conversation skills. I would also like to speak Spanish in a more informal manner, and hope to make conversation with some local people in mexico.

My spanish level from a scale of 1 to 10 is a 1. I wish to learn spanish because I will be going to Colombia in july 2007. I need improvment in every area. I would like to dedicate as much time as i can before july 2007. the qulities i am looking for in a Spanish teacher are patient and persistant. I have studied French & Spanish to a reasonable level in previous years, however in the past 20 years I have had very little need to use. I love Europe & love to visit, however I find that I have lost my confidence in speaking French or Spanish. I don't want to lose what I already know so would like to restart lessons in conversation in particular whilst also getting the grammar correct.
I have tried to teach myself Italian over the years but again feel that I need to have more indepth teaching to be able to converse & understand what is spoken.
I really love to speak languages native to the country I am visiting, however as I have already said I have lost my confidence in both French & Spanish but still want to learn & get back to where I was.
