I'm a beginner in the Arabic language, mostly with a background in knowing conversationa l phrases. I'm planning on entering a Near Eastern Civilizations and Languages program, and I need to have a strong sense of grammar to even be considered. I'm not looking for that much time with one-on-one with an instructor, I have a strong background in learning the fundamentals of different languages. I would need face time mostly to check my progress, so I was thinking only roughly four hours a week for twelve weeks.

I am a soon-to-be graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, with a major in Psychology. I am very interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese, as I would like to travel to Brazil, possibly even live there at some point. I have very limited knowledge of Spanish (I spent 6 weeks in Chile, so I picked up some while there). I would also like to improve my Spanish in addition to learning Portuguese. I realize this seems like a heavly load, but I have to start somewhere!
