I took Spanish in Grades 11,12 and 13. I did not write or speak any Spanish for 40 years until this winter when I was in Bolivia for a couple of months. There, I took 11 one-hour classes, one-on-one. I found that while basic structure and vocabulary came back quickly, I need much more work on more complicated sentence structure, verb forms and of course vocabulary. I found that classes several times a week most useful. In the future I may find that a certain level of fluency might be helpful so I am thinking of continuing with lessons. I have no idea how much lessons might cost; in Bolivia the going rate was $US6/hour!!

I took a 100 level spanish course in university several years ago and have since forgotten most of what i learned. I would like to relearn the language so that I can feel confident to travel to spanish-speak ing countries. I would like to dedicate about 3-4 hours a week to language lessons. I would like a teacher that has a good background in teaching and speaking spanish-someo ne that is genuinely interested in the success of her students.

My name is Emma Lipshut and I am interested in learning spanish. I have lived in Mexico for the past 8 months and returned about 3 months ago. Although I learnt some basic spanish while over there, I am very keen to continue learning the language as I have developed a great interest in learning to speak another language. I also wish to return someday soon to Mexico.
I was wanting lessons maybe twice a week, and preferable private lessons or in a very small class. I am looking to really practise conversationa l spanish and to learn grammer and tenses to be able to construct correct sentences and to hold more meaningful conversations .
I am looking for a teacher who encourages me to try to use only spanish while in the lessons and to to try to have conversations with me throughout each lessons, rather than straight off a text book or blackboard.
How much would private lessons cost and would the teacher travel to me?
I would love it if you could email me some information about your lessons.
