Description |
In early 2014 I am moving to South Korea for at least one year to join my partner who is currently on a work placement in Seoul.
I am at beginner level - I have started to teach myself the Korean alphabet but need somebody with the right expertise to teach me the proper pronunciation .
I am really keen and motivated to learn to read, write and speak at a basic level to be able to hold simple conversations . My overall goal is to become relatively fluent. I understand that this is a lot to aim for but I am very dedicated and will practice a lot!
I am hoping for lessons either once a week or once a fortnight. I am hoping for a teacher who is a native Korean speaker, who is able to explain things clearly and somebody with a passion for all things Korean. In addition to learning the language I would love to be able to discuss the Korean culture, food and your experiences.

I want to learn korean to be able to speak korean fluently and understand what my friends are saying in korean. I am very interested in the korean language as I feel that it is very meaningful. I also aim to pass the korean national exam to be able to work as a doctor in korea in the future.
Cu rrently I think I am at intermediate level but I still make some mistakes which makes me feel like a beginner.
I need to improve my grammar and vocabulary. There is some room for improvement in my pronunciation . I also need to improve my listening skills. I think reading and writing are less of a priority at the moment but I need to be skilled in them when I sit for the exam.
I would like to dedicate about 6 hours per week with 2 hour lessons each time to learn korean but I am open to suggestions of how much time I need to study to be be fluent in korean. My aim is to be fluent in 1-2 years time.
I would like a teacher who can converse well definitely in korean and to be able to explain korean sentences in English as well. It would be great if one can be fluent in both but to be fluent in korean is more important.

I feel learning a second language will increase understanding and compassion for other cultures. In addition, with the fast moving economy, having a second or even a third language is almost a requirement of the job-seeking professional. The ability to communicate to clients in anywhere on the world. Businesses are looking for potential candidates that have other talents which is highly valued.
I will need to start from a beginners level and work my way up towards advance stages.
Most areas I would like to cover are basic conversation skills where one to one interaction conversations , grammar, writing, listening and understanding key words.
I aim to dedicate 2-3 hours during this summer.
Th e teacher should be friendly, motivated and have a good background knowledge of the language. For the lessons, a variety of teaching methods should be used, such as tests, workbooks, some textbooks to cover some important areas. At the end some feedback provided to show how much I have learned or if I'm ready to move on to the next step.

Hello. My name is Alex Morley. I'm currently teaching English to school children in Okinawa, Japan but am coming back to the UK for 3 weeks during August. After living here for a year and a half my Japanese has reached a good level but I plan to move to China at some point in the future. I would be really interested in finding a tutor who would be able to give me some intensive tuition in Mandarin while I am back home. I can read and write a fair amount of Chinese but because I have taught myself I haven't had any opportunities to practice tones, accent and general conversation. I'm a keen learner and willing to travel if the tutor is unable to reach my family's house in Rickmansworth . As I will technically be on vacation I will have plenty of free time and would be very happy to have lessons at any time convenient for the tutor. I am also keen on picking up some Korean. I can already read Hangul and, given my knowledge of Japanese, I am aware of the use of particles and grammar that is common in both Japanese and Korean. Thank you for taking the time to read this information. Look forward to hearing from you.
