I am very interested in learning a foreign language. Unfortunately I can only speak English, so that would make me a complete novice in any other language... I would give 2-3 hours every day, but I don't know where to start. I'd like to learn a foreign language above all so I can:
1. Better understand my native language. I read learning a foreign language will benefit your understanding of written communication a lot more because you have basis for comparison, which a lot of people may take for granted, ie, grammar, punctuation, preposition, etc.
2. Break my monolingualis m, making me more interesting and give me the opportunity to chat with two of my Russian colleagues in their mothertongue for a change.
3. Russian is supposedly one of the hardest languages to learn and I like a challenge. Also, it would be fun getting to grips with those Russian hyroglyphics; I don't know what they mean...
Th e qualities i'd be looking for in lessons with my teacher would be: Punctuality.. I'm more than willing to work hard for this and would not leave last minute if a lesson in booked, i'd like the same return.

my name is Olga and I am 22 years old. I started learning Russian two years ago just because I like languages and I enjoy learning them and I would like to be a translator. Career advancement, as I am looking to learn Russian and Ukranian so that I when I graduate from my Masters degree I can then go to Russia or Ukraine to teach english, work at orphanages, children's shelter's and street children therefore it is essential that I can speak the language! Also this summer I am returning to Perm, to work with a childrens charity loves bridge, where I worked this winter, and need to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can to enable me to have a larger and more positive impact on the lives of the children. My proficiency is still at beginner level, and I have to improve in all areas grammar, conversation and writing. The qualities I am looking for is preferably a native speaker, whom can teach me in person but also help to advance and expand my knowledge during my free time.
