I am a United States citizen who wishes to become fluent in Portuguese (Portuges Brasileiro). My level is beginner to intermediate and I would like a teacher that focuses on conversation- based learning. My main motivation for attaining fluency in Portuguese is to speak with my in-laws (and their extended family), who are from the nordeste regiao of Brazil. I am willing to meet via zoom (or other free video conferencing software) at least twice a week for conversation and grammar improvement. I can devote at least 25 hours / week of self-study. I am super enthusiastic to learn!

I am learning Portuguese to pass the fluency exam for citizenship. I hope to move to Portugal within the next few years. My hope is to work at a university teaching mathematics or education courses. Currently I am a beginner, but may be heading towards intermediate with work I have been doing on my own. I need the most help training my ear and learning to not translate every work in my head.
