My proficiency level is beginner at best, as I have never taken classes to learn Sinhalese before.
I am looking to learn Sinhalese because I am applying for a scholarship to work in Sri Lanka for 9 months and need to be able to communicate with the local people and read documents written in Sinhalese.
B ecause I have no former experience with learning the Sinhalese language, I am looking to start with the basics.
I am willing to dedicate as much time as necessary to learning the language because it is essential that I be able to communicate with Sri Lankans once I am there.
The quality I am most looking for in a teacher is patience as I have never attempted to learn the language before.

I am a beginner of the Russian language. I have been collecting resources that I needed for my study of the Russian language. I am just starting to study the Russian. However, I feel that it is extremely important to start with a proper foundation of the Russian language. I feel that it is very important for me to to know the proper pronounciatio n and sounds of the Russian language first before I can go on to read publications/ books in Russian.
I am learning the Russian language because I love the language, and I met with some of Russian people. I really wanted to talk to them, but I got really frustrated by the language barrier. I really desire to overcome this barrier so much. Another reason to be fluent is that I need to learn the Russian language for my career/busine ss. It involves engineering/s cientific work as well as audiology & speech.
My goal is to be very fluent in the Russian language where I can communicate on a conversationa l and scientific/bu siness level. I am willing to study the language everyday, at least 1 to 2 hours daily to achieve high fluency of the Russian language. I realize that it would take long time to achieve that, but I am willing to do anything I can to reach that level of a native speaker.
I am looking for a Russian teacher that I can learn the pronounciatio n/sound system and then work up to the conversationa l level where I can talk about anything from current events to history. Once the conversationa l level is achieved, I can go on to the scientific/en gineering/busi ness area of the language. I am looking for a teacher who is a native Russian speaker with a lot of experiences in teaching Russian to English-speak ing students like me.
