Description |
Hello. For Japanese, I am a beginner. I just know the basics of the language as in sentence structure, and certain rules to verbs and adjectives. Other than that, I doubt I would be able to hold a solid conversation in Japanese. I am learning this language because I have always been interested in the Japanese culture, and have been planning on joining an exchange program to Japan sometime in college, so I would at least like to be fluent before that time comes. I need improvement in everything basically. Japanese isn't hard to me, but it is challenging to remember all the forms of speech they have. I always fear that I might say something wrong and offend a native speaker.
For Spanish, I am not sure what I should classify myself as. I have been taking Spanish classes for 2 and a half years now, but I am no where near fluent. My conversationa l skills are pretty choppy, seeing that my memory leaves me quickly, so yet again, I will remember the concept and not the words. If I had a better memory for words I'm pretty sure I'd be fluent in LOTS of languages by now. >_< I want to become fluent in Spanish because I am persuing a career in the Medical field, and 50% of the population comes from Spanish speaking backgrounds, and there has been countless times I've seen that they don't know English. It is true because there was a day a doctor was ready to give a Spanish patient three shots because that patient didn't understand or speak English. I don't want to work and not know how to communicate with my clients.
F or German, I don't know anything about it. I have never taken a single lesson on German what-so-ever, but from what I've seen, German seems fairly easy too learn. I know a lot of people who are fluent in German, and it only took them a year or 2 to become fluent. My interest in German isn't like Japanese and Spanish. I just feel that it would be nice to learn a fourth Language. Who knows, If I can handle these three (English makes Four) Then I might even tackle French as well. =]
For a teacher, I want a person who will be professional with me, but still fun. I don't like teachers who can't laugh or at least make their lessons a little bit interesting. I love it when a teacher can add silly relations to the lesson to help with memorization and pronounciatio n. If they are an effect teacher and can help me with my learning, then they are perfect.
I am willing to put as much time as I can into my lessons. I have school from 7 AM to 1:15 PM(Eastern Standarn, US) on weekdays and after homework and such, I can be on from about 4(5) to 9 PM (EST). On weekends, I can be on much more frequently, and I am always willing to learn more. I will also be studying on the side with the books I have to further my knowledge.
