I live very close to Philadelphia, PA, USA and can be in the Philadelphia Chinatown area easily by train or car from my home.
I am studying Chinese with the hope to live/work in China or with a Chinese company here in the USA. I am a beginner level, maybe advanced beginner and want to have a basic practical ability to listen, comprehend and speak Chinese.
I am seeking to especially improve my listening skills, as well as my grammar. I am also trying to gain writing skills and have begun to study radicals, characters and measure words.
I would like to have a class one (maybe two) night(s) a week, but will have to start with one night per week in the beginning due to my work schedule.
I am seeking a teacher who understands how to take a beginner to the intermediate level by slowly building confidence through conversations based on the textbook. I am currently using a set of books called 'Integrated Chinese' by Yao Tao-chung & Liu Yuehua (published by Cheng & Tsui Company. Many USA colleges/univ ersities use this series of books. I am learning simplified characters.
I had also been using Zhang PengPeng's set of three books: New Approaches to Learning Chinese 1)Intensive Spoken Chinese, 2)Rapid Literacy (reading) and 3) Most Common Chinese Radicals. I need someone who can help me accomplish these three books if we don't use the 'Integrated Chinese' set of books.

I want to be able to converse in Marathi and Hindi. Both my parents are Maharashtrian , and I can understand most spoken Marathi. However, speaking Marathi is much more difficult for me. I am unable to formulate sentences, and I don't know when to use the formal or informal pronouns. Grammar is difficult for me as I do not know the Marathi letters. I'm willing to dedicate as much time as needed to be able to converse without difficulty.

I have learned for a year fifteen years ago, and started again last summer for two months. I have lived in a village in Palestine for a month and practiced some there, but not a lot. My level is low, but not beginner.
I would like to return to Palestine to do activism.
I would like to learn grammar and conversationa l Arabic.
I can afford to pay for one hour/week at the moment.
I would like a teacher who has an organized system of teaching. I am currently learning from a book which I like very much and would love to continue from that book with help. I want a teacher who will wait for me to try to remember, push me hard, and not just give me answers.
