I currently do not know any Urdu. I would like to learn it because I am marrying into a Pakistani family and would like to be able to have my furture children speak it as well so the culture will be within our family. I'm willing to deticate as much time as will fit into my school schedule. I am looking for a patient, understanding teacher, which I'm sure we all are. Someone who can use interesting analogies to teach, as opposed to a dry straight-thro ugh lesson.

I am looking to learn Filipino(Taga log). The status that I am currently at is a beginner. I have had zero formal training and have only the slightest in conversationa l interaction.
I would like to learn the language primarily so that I am capable of conversing with many others whom I know who are proficient in the language. Aswell I intend to spend time in the phillipines.
In regards to how much time I can allot, I am a student at McMaster University in Hamilton, and I have a car so I am flexible. Once a week would probably be best, but can be determined at a later date.
In regards to a teacher I am looking for someone who has the time to tutor in person. This is my primary requirement, as I am a beginner.

Definitly a beginner, although I do have some grasp of the language as my family is all from Belgium and I have spent several months living there recently. I have a decent understanding of the vocabulary, but I am having difficulty with speaking due to my fear of sounding stupid as my dutch grammar is not very good. Would be willing to dedicate a few hours at a time, for as many days/months as necessary.
