I am married to a Filipino/Cana dian who was raised only speaking English. Although I have been attending religious classes in Tagalog for the last 5 years my grasp of converstaiona l Tagalog is very limited. I am apprehensive about speaking in front of many people and therefore my speaking abilities are very poor. I understand about half of what I hear and read. Speaking Tagalog fluently is my long term goal.

Mandarin: I have lived in Taiwan for one year, and taught myself some speaking and writting. I was using the Pimsleur CDs which uses the Beijing dialect. This is the dialect I wish to learn and am looking for either small classes or a private tutor 2 or 3 times a week in the evenings to improve the bit that I picked up while I was there. I would classify my level as beginner.
French: I attended French-immers ion for the first few years of school and always excelled in French classes. Now I would like to become fluent. I would describe my level as low-intermedi ate (I can understand what's being said when the speaking is slow, and I can usually get my point across when I need someone to understand me. My reading is OK, but writting/gram mar is terrible)

My name is Amanda and i am going into grade 12, i am interested in learning Sign Language, because i wan't to become a teacher. I want to be able to interact with all different types of people.
