I have recently taken a few classes that consisted of 40 hrs of instrution each. I didn't learn as much as I had wanted to and I think a one on one or smaller class sizes would help a lot more. My reasons for learning are that I am going to be traveling and visiting my friends in Mexico in November. I would like to be able to communicate better with them. I would like to be able to have a normal conversation about everyday things and be able to understand a native speaker and respond. I would like to dedicate 2hr classes twice a week as well as study at home. I think that repetativenes s is an assest when learning a language. What i'm looking for in an instructor is someone who is fun, energetic and has a real enthusiasm for teaching and someone who can sence the pace of one' s learning curve and adjust to that. Someone who genuinly cares about the student.

I am at a beginner level in Greek. I would like to learn conversationa l Greek as I will be travelling to Greece in August, 2005. I have taken 2 years of university Italian but I'm certainly still a beginner! We focussed alot on grammar and writing, but I'm really interested in learning how to hold a conversation more than anything else! I'm pretty fluent in French already (I did the French Immersion thing until grade 12 then took 2 years of French at University) but I could also use some brushing up. Mostly I just love Italian, Italy and the Italian culture and I would love to learn enough conversationa l Italian to be able to eventually live and work in Italy for a time. This is a really long-term goal, however, and for now, I just love the language and I want to expand my minimal knowledge of it! I'm just looking for something really casual, maybe in a group atmosphere, where we could sit and talk or cook some Italian food or watch an Italian movie...more like a little club than formal instruction.
