I am looking for a teacher of Modern Standard Arabic to help me prepare for the Leaving Certificate exam in June 2006.
I would mainly be interested in reading aloud the two set novels ('The Days' by Taha Hussein and 'The Wedding of Zein' by Tayeb Salih)whilst having my pronunciation corrected (my reading of unvowelled texts is poor), grammar points explained and the text translated as we go along. I would be studying quite a bit outside of class and would then use the teacher to explain anything I had come across during the week that I didn't understand.
I am looking for a teacher who is able to speak to me in Modern Standard Arabic rather than a dialect and whose English is good enough to explain grammar points and is enthusiastic during lessons and expects me to work hard. I would be interested in two hours per week of lessons dependant on price.

Areas in which I need particular improvement: all (because I'm an absolute beginner)
How much time I want to dedicate to my lessons: well, depends... ;-). I think at least two times a week and about two hours each time.
I'd rather learn in a group. It's less expensive and 'more learning'.

I am reasonably good at spoken German but very poor at understanding spoken German. My reading and writing is a bit better but still far from adequate. I'd classify myself 'intermediate ' rather than advanced.
Reason for learning: aim to live and work in Germany in the long term
Areas for improvement: conversationa l German, especially understanding

Hi, I am interested in Chinese/Manda rin language lessons. I am a native English/Canto nese speaker so I would like to improve my Mandarin (for conversationa l and business development purposes). I would like dedicate at least 2 hours a week on this. I think that I need particular improvement in Mandarin vocabulary words and pronunciating them.

I am half cantonese however i have never learned to speak the language as I have always lived in Ireland. However, when i do return home to Malaysia, i find myself unable to participate in conversations . I would now like to be able to do so, fairly proficiently. I am not yet interested in being able to write chinese, more so simple conversation. I am in full time university, so I think i would be studying very slowly. A teacher who could reach these needs would be perfect.
