I am a beginner in the Japanese Language. I only know a few words and can recognize a few symbols.
I am interested in learning Japanese because I would like to go to Japan for a year as an English teaching aid. I am also looking to learn Japanese to advance my business career.
Si nce I am a beginner, I need to work in all areas. Since my goal is to actually go to Japan, I will need more than conversation skills. I will also need reading and writing skills.
I am willing to dedicate several hours a week to learning.
I am looking for a Japanese speaker that has Japanese as their native language. It would be nice to find someone that has lived there. That way I can discuss customs also.
I am limited on the amount of funds that I can provide a tutor so I would like to keep the actual classes to once a week via phone and have a set of lessons emailed to me that I can work on for the week and discuss during the phone conversation. I say phone because I live quite far from any large cities. The closest large town near me is Lumberton, NC (25 miles north). Myrtle Beach, SC is approximately 60 miles south of me.
I will not be able to actually start classes until March 2009, due to the lack of funds. I am planning to learn Hiragana and Katakana between now and then though.

My name is Darcy and i have been maried for 31 years,
i live in the U.S State of Maine.
I have been wanted to learn Irish most of my life,
and know i have the time to be able to learn it.
I would like to be able to speak,read,wr ite,i have learned
some Animals in Irish from flash cards,and could remember
the Irish spelling for most animals.
I am a fast learner when it comes to memerizing words,
i reconize them very well.
But thats just seeing the Spelling names of Animals in Irish
and saying that name out loude in english just a few Animal flash cards.
I can learn to pronunce them if the word is split up

I studied French in high school but now find that I would benefit from fluency. For business. Additionally, I have 2 young daughters who would also benefit from fluency. I am looking for lessons that match our busy schedules. I work full time and travel to the EU frequently. We are willing to drive to a location in Minneapolis. We live in the West suburbs, Plymouth/Wayz ata. I am looking for a teacher with compassion for a very busy working mom who wishes for her children (and herself) to become fluent in French.
