I speak some Korean, but not fluently. I lived in Korea for a couple of years, back in the 80s. I do not currently study the Korean language, but am considering maybe making an effort to improve.
I 'm considering whether or not there might be some merit to meeting with a tutor once or twice a month for some linguistic guidance.
I'm not looking for strict, formal lessons, but rather more for a casual, informal meeting, where someone could evaluate where I am at, and could advise me on what might be a good way for me to approach learning the language.
I read and write Korean, and can get by in most situations and with basic conversations , but I have huge holes in my language ability. Nothing has prevented me from studying the language for the past few decades, except perhaps a lack of any real motivation. So at this point I'm not really sure what I want to do with the language. But I think I should do something with it.
If you want to evaluate my pronunciation , you can hear me speaking in Korean [removed] . This is a good representatio n of what I sound like, except that I was speaking from a script that I had memorized, so it makes me appear to be MUCH more fluent than I really am, which quickly becomes apparent if you meet me in person.
