I have studied for 2 months latin american spanish in Guatemala. For one month I took lessons with a private teacher for 4hrs as day and also I lived with a local guatemalan family that spoke only spanish.
I feel I am still abeginner in the language but would like to learn more because I am planning to return to Guatemala for more voluntary work and possibly I would like to study medicine in Guate as well.
So, I would like to be taught spanish the way it is spoken in Guatemala, with emphasis on basic conversationa l skills, and medical related terminology if possible. When I left GUate I was jsut beginning to learn the subjuntive tense.
I can have basic conversations and I think I have been taught the proper accent...woud l also like to emphasize accent.
I am a student here in OTtawa and as such am a bit tight for money. I can spend maybe two hours per weekend or per one weekday evening a week. I would like to learn one on one witha private teacher unless there is another student who also wants to learn medical related items.
I wish that the teacher is from Latin America, preferentiall y female, with experience in language instruction.

I am a beginning Spanish student. I have rough knowledge, but I am a very fast learner. I have a background in some French and Italian, but I want to learn Spanish because it is useful for my profession. I am a social worker and I work with a Spanish speaking population so it is important to me to expand my knowledge. I would need knowledge in all areas, but mostly I would like to be able to converse. I would like to spend about 3-4 hours a day for a two week period with a one on one tutor. I would like a challenging, yet patient tutor. I am excited and serious about learning the language.
