I am an American who will be staying in Alphaville from October 1 to November 17 tentatively. I would like to take this opportunity to learn Portuguese for my own personal development, and to make the most of my time here in Brazil. I am a beginner who is completely new to Portuguese. I would like to focus most of my learning on everyday conversation. I can dedicate 1 to 2 hours a day to language lessons. Since I am a beginner, I would like anyone who is fluent in English.

Hello. My name is Robyn. I will be arriving in Brasilia on August 30th to do a 7 month work placement. I have no knowledge of Portuguese and need to learn the language fast in order to do my work. I do have a strong level of spanish, and feel this will help me learn the language quickly. Ideally I would like to take intensive private lessons (3 hours each day) for the first 3-4 weeks (for the month of September, 2006) I am looking for a private tutor. It would be helpful if the tutor spoke some English or Spanish, as I have no knowledge of Portuguese. Please respond as soon as possible. Thank you very much.
