Beginner, just came back from my first vacation there and am seriously considering moving, will go for another vacation for sure and would like to speak as much Tagalog as possible. Possibly 2 to 3 nights a week of learning. No specific qualities in the teacher are necessary other than teaching me to speak and understand Tagalog so I can communicate in full sentences for my next trip.

I have no history of Korean or Tagalog lessons, only Japanese. These lessons were less than a month and were taught in a huge classroom.
M y reason for learning these languages especially Japanese is to gain a greater understanding of the language and culture as well as to use it when I teach English abroad.
The areas where I need improvement would have to be writting and listening. If possible I would dedicated two days per week to lessons from an hour and a half to two hours.
The qualities that I look for in a teacher are communication , creativity, and the sense of not reading everything off of the manual... throw in some history tid bits... make things interesting! Thorough understanding behind characters and other things overlooked by many.

I live in Clarington and a Durham-situat ed tutor would be ideal, but I also work in Toronto, and meeting in Toronto is not a problem at all. I am very interested in learning Tagalog, and would like to begin right away.

Begineer. I am married to a filipina and have 3 children who are living in the Philippines and we have recently purchased a house and will be residing in the Philippines. Would like to start as a beginner. My wife is from the philipines, and so I am interested in learning tagalog.
Con versation, grammar, reading etc. are all parts of the language I would like to learn. Ideally in a classroom setting. 4 or more hours a week would also be fine.
