I first became interested in Sweden as a whole when we had an exchange student from Stockholm. Recently I've returned from a trip to Europe, during which, the majority of my time was spent in Sweden with the family of my exchange student. Like most people, after returning I found I had been bitten by the travel bug which inspired me to teach English as a second language, which I am also pursuing at this time. I have been told and am aware that learning Swedish is not required to teach in Sweden but it is something I wish to do before I return. I learned a basic level while I was there and would like to further pursue the language on a weekly basis. For the most part, I would like to learn conversationa l Swedish and am not too concerned with professional but not excluding grammatical. I would like for my teacher to be open minded and patient as well as fairly laid back. I'm not looking for a strict classroom environment, just relaxed learning at comfortable pace, however I do enjoy a teacher that knows how to push just enough to see unexpected improvements. I hope I have not been too specific or demanding and I hope to hear from many teachers!

I am starting from a little above beginner. My wife and I lived in China for about 11 months.
We want to go back to China to live someday. We need Mandarin. I would like to be literate at about the grade three level in both writing and reading.
I think 1-4 hours a week plus homework is the range of time I can dedicate towards it.
I would like my Chinese tutor to give me a good language base so that I could follow and participate in everyday, but specific, Mandarin conversations . I would also like to read basic public signs.
