I am looking to learn vietnamese, mainly because i have a great interest in the country, stemming from becoming interested in the vietnam war. Fromt this i started to look at the lesson researched areas, the south vietnamese military and the civilians at the time. I then started to become interested in the country itself, at some point in the future i intend to go to vietnam and would also like to have a least a basic undestanding of the language.
I would like to spend one - two hours a week learning, I would also love to have a teacher who is vietnamese because it would be very nice to speak with somebody who has lived there and knows the country and people well.

Dear Potential Teacher,
I'm half-way through a beginners' course of 8 lessons in Vietnamese which is hardly enough to even make a decent start. With this email I'm trying to explore the possibility of getting some more tuition. Place of tuition and cost will be the deciding factors.
My reason for wanting to converse in Vietnamese is that I am taking a TESOL course later this year with a view to teaching English in Vietnam. A basic understanding would be a great help.
