I do not know any Catalan at all and have plans for moving to Barcelona next year for an undetermined amount of time. I was thinking about taking spanish classes however i spent some time in Barcelona a few years ago and found that people respond better to their native language of Catalan eventhough they do speak spanish as well. I have about 3 days to spare during the week for classes. Some things I would like from a teacher would be patience and the ability to teach me not just formal language but also things that i can use everyday talking to anyone, more realistic translations that include slang. I find alot of things cant be applied to the usual way people speak to eachother. My family is multi-lingual and I look forward to being so as well.

I took 3 semesters of Russian language in college. This was 3 years ago, so it's been awhile.
I love the language and I want to become fluent. Maybe one day I could use it for an employment opportunity.
I want to be fluent. I want to be able to hold conversations with Russians and have a strong understanding .
I am willing to dedicate as much time as it takes. Maybe one to two hours three or four times a week. That would be something to discuss.
I want my teacher to be Russian and to know the colliquial language. I want to learn how Russian will be spoken to me if I were to live there. I want to learn what I can't learn from teaching myself.

I'm currently studying Mandarin in college at the University of Chicago. I've spent a summer in Beijing at Qinghua studying year 2 Chinese, and will be enrolled in year 3 with the start of next school year. I also have several years' experience in French, as well as a family background in French, though I would also be interested in increasing my fluency. I also have interest in studying Italian to a greater depth than I currently know, and I very much want to extend my knowledge of Chinese beyond Mandarin. To that end I'm very interested in learning other dialects of Chinese from Cantonese to Shanghainese or anything I can practically get ahold of. Chinese is at the moment my primary language goal, and I would be willing to focus as much time as is necessary to lessons. As for an instructor, I'm looking for someone who can get me to be able to naturally engage in conversation, and not necessarily be always caught up in grammar rules or structures. Otherwise I'm not that picky.

I am seeking to learn the language due to my wife and her famialy are Hungarian. I have very limited knowledge of the laguage. I can not hold a convesation on any real level other than Hello and goodbye. I am looking to spend as much time as fincialy possible to learn this language. I am also in hopes that I can learn enough to even have the ability to move there. I am lookoing for a teacher that can give me the ability to speak in a bussiness since as well as a rural since of the lauage (ie. Bussiness and famialy speach).
